That was quick! I am gonna test it later and will let you know! Thanks!

Update/Edit:

Can't flash my cart with the tools at my disposal, but running it from an Everdrive on my DMG worked now :)

Thanks!

Great, hope I can flash my cart then :)

Hi there!

Pressing A elicits a sound, but the screen stays black, so I assume the game may be still running.

Best regards,

Tobias

Hi there, got your physical recently, but the game crashes on a DMG when the colour pop-up comes - it works on a GBC and in emulators, but the screen just turns black on a DMG...

I second this motion :)

Yeah, does sound good to me :)

Is there a chance to still get a physical? I completely missed your Kickstarter back in the day...

Looking very, very good so far and the main mechanics seem to work (water refill, drinking, maggot-generation, eating). It oozes the nostalgic feelings for the original :)

Some things I noticed:

Returning back to the first city, I can't correctly move anymore, character is basically flying in highspeed through the cityscape and controls do not work as intended.

The wood item (?) is not visible when in "hand". Clicking picks it up and places it fine, but while the other items are "carried", this one is not.

Drinking beyond a 9 days fill will set the counter to 0 instead of 10 (but works as 10, so it's probably just a bug in the menu.

Hi Ted, as promised via Twitter, please find some thoughts and comments about your game below (I think this page is better suited for feedback). I have recently completed the game via my Kickstarter cartridge and did enjoy it very much, but I think there might be some points to consider for upcoming projects (or if you feel like amending them in this) :)

- I love the music, but the looping sometimes seems to be off. Apart from the title screen (where, at a certain point, it devolves into a contiouus beeping), this happened specifically early on in the antenna area, were I assume the game expected me to leave quicker than I did. At least it got eerily silent while I read the notes in that room during the evacuation scene :)

- You should probably look into having someone proofread the English. While I never struggled to understand what was going on, it sometimes felt weird and sometimes outright off. For a game as story-centric as yours, this is a major drawback in my opinion.

- The story was very interesting to follow, but felt a bit rushed at the end (but maybe that's for a successor to tackle) - I wouldn't have minded reading MORE and playing LESS, I felt your game is very much a visual novel anyway :)

- In regards to that "playing LESS" above: I felt the more gamey elements (jump & runs, and such) were the least fun. This may be partially due to the relatively weak controls (the jumping, swimming, or spaceship chase for example) potentially coming from GBStudio, but generally saying, those could use some more work. Thankfully those sequences are nice and short :)

- That being said, though, your checkpoints (especially in the early half of the game) are awfully set :-D I had to retry the Mars caves and swimming scenes a couple of times, and it was extremely annoying to read through the introdcution and password screens every single time - might be worth thinking about chaning the checkpoints to AFTER these text boxes (by the way, that includes the killer-crab scene, where trial & error is basically unavoidable) :)

All that being said now, I still enjoyed the game very much, I liked following the story and meeting the characters, I think me saying I would have loved to read MORE (in-game) about the universe is telltale on that, so great work and thank you very much! :)

I love that you are doing original DMG GB compatible versions now - I have to catch up with all your wonderful releases - thank you! :)

Finished the first house in Bulb, an so far I really enjoy the gameplay and graphics, both are great & clear - and after getting used to the "darkness" mechanic it's quite an entertaining concept! I can see that carrying the game for a couple of houses. My main gripe so far would be the music, which could really use some work, I do feel it gets annoying relatively fast, unfortunately. A good soundtrack would go a long way in improving this to one of the better Indie-releases!

Thank you, got it from your github now :)

Having a button dedicated to cuss is the icing on the cake that is this wonderful little (albeit a bit too short) adventure!

it looks great with its cute graphics, the story is entertaining and oh so relatable. 😅

Would be great to see more of this!

This is a great entry worthy of a full (physical!) release, great idea, perfectly executed with great graphics, good controls, not to mention the nice touch with an engaging story.

I just need to break away from it for now as I see this will take me more time to invest in it, but there's still many games in the Compo to try.

Great work! 👍

Can't seem to be able to download this, unfortunately :(

This game was surprisingly fun (even if not especially challenging) - I see a lot of potential here, but for what is there, I already enjoyed tremendously. Great work :-D

For what is there it works already, but I haven't really found much to do yet. Kill some Cacti (and get scared by the only sound in the game) find the city, and run into dead ends.

It might become a fascinating game, but this truly is a WIP right now :)

That's a great idea and it already plays really nice, but does the camera focus / targeting rectangle even do anything yet?

You are putting out a lot of great games on GBC! Since Auto Zone also works on an original GB, do you know whether this is true for your other games as well? I prefer my good old DMG to play games on :)

Great, I am thinking about getting a custom cart to play on my modded original DMG, so I could use the Color version to have both options :) Thank you!

I am curious:

Would the GBC version just run in GB mode if I flashed it to a GB cartridge and put it into an original GameBoy or would it not work (e.g. give the incompatiblity notice some official games do)?
